A wedding day with Jessica and Denis
A wonderful wedding day spent with Jessica and Denis wedding day was a amazing experience for all involved. Married at St Augustine's on Bourke St in Melbourne. as recently voted the best wedding photographer in Melbourne by the ABIA awards Jessica and Denis were keen to see what I could do for them. I had the pleasure of working next to Michael from Allure Video Productions, Michael is an amazing videographer, no doubt one of the best in the country. Maggie Tamura another ABIA winner did Jessica's beautiful makeup, so we were sure spoiled all the way. We were blessed with some fantastic locations where Denis and Jess were getting ready. lots of natural light and fun people to photograph. Off to a lovely catholic ceremony at St Augustines, followed by a location shoot at Carlton Gardens and South Wharf. The reception was at Cargo Hall and I got some amazing shots of the dance and the awesome lights that Cargo Hall and Showtime Events can produce.
Ana and Tim
Ana and Tim were married on the waterfront at Portsea Hotel. What a glorious location for a wedding! Portsea Hotel is full of rustic charm and with Ana getting ready within the Hotel, it made for some beautiful shots. Ana looked absolutely stunning in her dress and fascinator. With her family close by, the emotion was overwhelming. Tim and the boys were full of fun and energy, and even stopped to play some football and cricket beforehand. This gave me a great opportunity to get some great shots for them. On a beautiful sunny day and with so much room to take photos, I managed to capture all the detail and emotion of the service, highlighted by the releasing of doves at the end. Our location shoot was short but picturesque. With the ocean as a background, the bridal party was large, which always relaxes the newlyweds and makes for good fun and games. The reception with the ocean as a backdrop, was full of great food and formalities. I actually felt a sense of disappointment when I had to leave, after only an hour at the reception. I am happy that I will see them again this year at Ana's beautiful sister Caroline's wedding. I know it will be just as spectacular!
Cobi And Bradley
Cobi and Bradley's beautiful wedding was at Rosebank receptions, in the leafy outer suburbs of Melbourne. Cobi and Bradley had their 'first look' before the ceremony under the rotunda, and the sparks were flying. I knew then we were going to witness a very special day. The quaint little naturally lit chapel was the perfect setting for such an emotional wedding ceremony. Cobi looked absolutely stunning in her halter neck vintage dress and with the bridesmaids in matching colour, it provided a different than normal photography experience. Cobi and Bradley shared an amazing afternoon with me, which was such a pleasure and the folks at Rosebank were fantastic and very accommodating. Cobi and Bradley had their wedding photo published in 'Real Brides' Magazine, which I'm sure they were very proud of, as I was. A big thank you to them for being relaxed, enjoying their day and for letting me share it with them. I hope you enjoy this small snippet from their amazing day.
Jesse and Michael
Jesse and Michael were recently married at 'Mist' at Olinda. Nestled within the Dandenongs at the National Rhododendron gardens. It provided the perfect backdrop for some photography filled with fun and happiness. The bridesmaids wearing mandarin dresses, which were a great choice, they really highlighted our bride Jesse beautifully. Michael looked the perfect groom and their love showed through the whole day. The ceremony was performed beautifully by Julia Doven a very bubbly and genuine celebrant. Overlooking the Melbourne skyline. We then headed to Mist for some family and group shots before taking a slow walk through the Rhododendron gardens, stopping to have some playful shots and some tender moments. The bridal party were a pleasure to work with, it truly was a memorable day. The whole day truly summed up my philosophy towards wedding photography, that you really do get back what you put out. Congratulations to Jesse and DJ MykeyB you guys rock!
Nicole and Jim
Nicole and Jim's wedding at the Little White Chapel, was the start of an amazing journey, from the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne into the heart of the city and ending up at Fitzroy Gardens 'The Pavilion' restaurant. The day started off with Nicole getting ready at her parents home with traditional Macedonian ceremonies. We captured some amazing shots of Nicole before heading off to see Jim with his parents and his bright red Mercedes Benz. Heading off to the chapel, the bride actually arrived before most of her family from her family ceremonies. Nicole had a short wait out the front of the church in her antique car, which gave me some welcomed opportunities to get some amazing shots of our bride and the car. The service was heartfelt and full of love. All who attended surely felt the love these two had for each other. We headed off to the city for some shots at the Langham Hotel, Hosier Lane and Fitzroy Gardens, where they got some amazing shots for the kids in the future. Sipping champagne on sunset was a beautiful sight to capture before heading into the formalities of the reception.
In ten years and 570 odd weddings, I have met some amazing people. I really wanted to show some of my favorite images on a dedicated page. They may be here for all sorts of reasons, they may be obvious or candid or simply moments that I loved. I shoot roughly 60-80 weddings per year so I have a lot to choose from, hopefully over time I will fill this page up with an amazing little collection that can show you what defines me as a photographer, and makes me love what I do so much. I do not do generic work, I do not look at other photographers work. I work from my own creativity and every time I shoot a wedding I treat it with the philosophy that this is a unique day that needs a unique perspective. I am exceptionally grateful to my clients for voting me the Best Wedding Photographer in Victoria. Awards mean very little to me except when they come from my actual clients. This is why we are members of the ABIA.
Simia and Simon
Simia and Simon were 'officially' married in Bangladesh in the new year. They decided to have a second ceremony for family and friends in Australia. The day started with Simia getting ready at home and even though I didn't have the amount of time I would have liked with Simia, we still managed to capture some stunning images of her and her amazing wedding dress and shoes! The ceremony was at Caulfield Park right next to the lake, this is where I took some lovely shots of Simon and the boys with Simia's beautiful dog 'Bambi' all dressed up in her wedding apparel. The service was simply fantastic, full of love, laughs and lots of emotion. Outdoor ceremonies are fantastic for capturing all the angles and those loving looks between bride and groom. A few shots around Caulfield Park throwing some leaves and we were off to Quat Quatta for the reception and more photos. We surely captured the mood and love of the day and Quat Quatta is a stunning venue for a wedding. Congratulation Simia and Simon simply stunning!
